I've always had this fear of re-reading old favorites because a re-read might alter my feels and thoughts.

However, reading "Making Faces" almost a decade later proved to be a very special and spiritual experience. It's like a balm to the soul. It's a story that has aged so well, with lessons you can carry no matter what phase you are in your life.

"Making Faces" is beautifully written and it left me feeling uplifted and grateful for the life I have and the people I get to share it with. It's thought provoking and deep as it challenges different ideas and societal norms of beauty, strength, love and power.

This book is everything and will always hold a special place in my heart.

At this point in my relationship with Lisa Jewell, I feel like nothing can pull me away from her now. This book was a bit slow given that there was a lot of people involved and three different narrators we have to get used to. Unlike her other books, none of the characters really resonated with me. Maybe Jenna. And Romola. But no one left a mark. Just like with the title, I felt like I was just watching them and watching the whole story pan out.

Though I was already able to figure out the twist, it did not take away from my overall enjoyment because that last reveal though, I LOVE IT!
