Ooohhhh the energy it took to orchestrate all of that!

H&H is a very good thriller that kept me on my toes the whole time. Just when you thought the story was coming to an end - bam there goes another reveal. This is my favorite kind of messed up - unreliable narrators and unlikeable characters with a painful backstory to hold everything in.

Also, that woods scene towards the end would make for an interesting cat and mouse scene on TV.

3.5 STARS!

I started this as a palate cleanser, a mindless read. But look at that, I became invested and enjoyed it a lot.

However, as much as I was rooting for the main characters, I found myself being invested in the side characters more. Give me more Claire and Gibs, Joey and Aoife please. Also Tadhg, brave little boy.

I have not touched this genre in such a long time but I was especially drawn in to the found family trope. This is IMMENSELY longer than most YA romance books I’ve read in the past but because I was being entertained, I found myself not minding at all. I kid. I did mind at times especially on scenes that I felt were repetitive. I mean why was it sooo long?

This is intense sloooooooow burn, YA sports romance, coming of age, friends to lovers and found family trope.

That last chapter though - WTF! I had this intense urge to hug the Lynch brood because they are just too precious. Now looking forward to book 2!

Favorite characters: Gibsie, Claire, Mrs. Kavanagh and Joey (so excited for his own books)
